India’s former cricketer Mohammad Kaif thinks that return of Indian Captain Virat Kohli would be a great moral booster for India’s side during the Test series against West Indies, but Spinners Ravichandran and Ravindra Jadeja would provide the greatest threat for the visiting West Indies during the two-match series.
Both of them are going to start their first match playing together for the first time, they hadn’t play together during the last series against England. Kais said ““It is going to be very difficult for West Indies because India are a very strong team at home. Virat Kohli is also back to lead them. But in my opinion, the biggest match-winners in the series will be Ashwin and Jadeja. Kuldeep Yadav is also there but I think Ashwin and Jadeja will be the biggest threat for the visiting team.”
The Indian squad again was changed for the West Indies series.
India look to be the favorites for the Tests, coming into this series with a strong statement with their selection.
Though the head coach Stuart Law of West Indies said that the weather being different from back home it would test their absorption levels. Temperature at Saurashtra is expected to be around 40 degrees with humidity of around 30 percent.
Law also confirmed that Kemar Roach would be missing out the first Test due to a bereavement in his family.
1994 was the last time that the West Indies had won a Test match was in Mohali and 2002 was also the last time they had beaten India anywhere in Kingston.
The youngest specialist batsman Prithvi Shaw would be making his Test debut for India Sachin Tendulkar was the last specialist youngster to make his debut in Karachi 1989.
