India’s top-order batter Suryakumar Yadav has risen to be one of the most highly prolific batters in white-ball cricket. Suryakumar is doing some unthinkable things with the bat in the shortest format (T20I) of the game. The right-handed batter has been scoring runs at a strike rate of over 175, batting at No.4. in the middle overs. Many batters struggle to score quick runs in the middle overs, but Suryakumar is doing it with ease.

Suryakumar has scored a breathtaking century, albeit in a losing cause against England, and has shattered the record for most runs by an Indian in a calendar year with more than two months left in 2022. The 32-year-old batter’s shot-making abilities and his innovative skills make him more special.

In the game against Pakistan, though Suryakumar did not score more runs, he was the only batter who did not seem to be in any sort of discomfort at any point and also got off the blocks straight away. Legendary India cricketer Kapil Dev said only a few thought Suryakumar will develop into an impact player like this but currently, an Indian team without him is unthinkable.

Kapil admitted that no one ever thought about Yadav being an impact player in the future, but he did great with his batting and forced the world to talk about him. Now, we cannot think about India without him. The former captain stated that having a batter like Suryakumar in the team in the company of Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, and KL Rahul, a team automatically becomes strong.
