Sunrisers Hyderabad beat Rajasthan Royals by 7 wickets at Dubai International Stadium. Half-centuries from Jason Roy and skipper Kane Williamson helped Sunrisers Hyderabad to secure a convincing victory. SRH performed well to win the match after facing consecutive losses. Sunrisers Hyderabad made the play-offs road tougher for Rajasthan Royals with a defeat.
After electing to bat, Rajasthan Royals finished 164/5 in 20 overs. SRH senior pacer Bhuvnesh Kumar dismissed Opener Evin Lewis for just 6. RR captain Sanju Samson and Jaiswal added 56 runs for the second wicket. Sanju Samson played a brilliant knock and scored 82 runs with an excellent strike rate. SRH bowlers bowled well towards the end and restricted RR to 164. Siddarth Kaul picked up two wickets and conceded just 4 runs in the final over. Bhuvnesh, Sandeep Sharma, and Rashid Khan took a wicket each for SRH.
Chasing a target of 165 runs, SRH opener Jason Roy fired from the start and scored quick runs. While Williamson rotated the strike, Roy scored runs by hitting boundaries frequently. Roy lost his wicket on 60 runs after edging Chetan Sakariya to Samson. Mustafizur Rahman dismissed Priyam Garg for a golden duck. While Abhishek Sharma played a middle-order cameo, Williamson remained unbeaten on 51 and ensured SRH cross the line.
SRH registered their second win of the season. SRH is still at the bottom of the points table with only four points. Rajasthan Royals are in sixth place with eight points and they have four more games to play in the 2021 IPL tournament. RR has to give its best in all the matches to qualify for the play-offs.
