Cricketing experts want CSK all-rounder to replace Avesh Khan

Men in blue registered a comprehensive 40-run win over Hong Kong, but Indian pacers got a huge reality check at the Dubai international stadium. Indian fast bowlers Avesh Khan and Arshdeep Singh leaked 97 runs in their eight overs, with a combined economy of more than 12 runs an over. The left-arm pacer had a one-off game while Avesh continued with his poor run.

The right-arm pacer delivered another nightmarish performance, leaking 53 runs in his 4 overs. Avesh has featured in the majority of the T20Is since IPL 2022 but he has not done justice to the faith shown in him by the team management. Avesh is continuously failing to show his responsibility and skills while bowling in the death overs.

The 25-year-old speedster economy rate of 9.10 is the worst rate by an Indian bowler in T20Is in a calendar year, with at least 25 overs. Given the options at their disposal, the Indian team is spoilt for choices. The decision-makers have shown more trust in him than someone like Deepak Chahar and Mohammed Shami, who are proven match-winners.

Perhaps, it is time for the team management to stop trying to look good and do what is in the team’s best interest. Chennai Super Kings player Deepak Chahar should be added to the playing XI. Chahar is a wicket-taking bowler in the powerplay overs and also adds strength to the batting line-up. Earlier, the all-rounder proved that he can score runs by hitting brilliant shots. Chahar can play some handy knocks at the end
