Padikkal’s blistering century and Kohli’s half-century guide RCB to their 4th consecutive victory

In yesterday’s IPL match Royal Challengers Bangalore defeated Rajasthan Royals by 10 wickets and have now reached the top of the points table. This is RCB’s 4th consecutive win in IPL 2021. Devdutt Padikkal scored his first century in his IPL career in this match. Virat Kohli also became the first batsman to score 6000 runs in IPL. Kohli and Padikkal also set the record for the highest opening partnership for RCB. Devdutt Padikkal is the third uncapped cricketer to score a century in the IPL. Not only this, Devdutt Padikkal of 20 years 289 days became the third youngest batsman to score a century in IPL. Before him, Manish Pandey had scored a century in IPL when he was 19 years 253 days and Rishabh Pant at 20 years 218 days.

Earlier, Virat Kohli won the toss and chose to bowl and RR posted a score of 177 runs for 9 wickets. Chasing the target, Royal Challengers Bangalore won the match scoring 181 runs without losing wickets in 16.3 overs. Devdutt Padikkal scored an unbeaten 101 off 52 balls while Kohli remained unbeaten on 72 off 47 balls.
RCB’s Harshal Patel and Mohammad Siraj took 3-3 wickets. So far 23 matches have been played between RCB and Royals in IPL. Of these, RCB has won 11 and RR has won 10 matches. Two matches did not yield results. This is RCB’s third consecutive win against Rajasthan.
