IInd Test Match: India vs South Africa

After an outstanding performance of India in the first Test, will look to close the series in the second match in Pune, starting Thursday. Ashwin and Rohit Sharma’s performances helped India beat SA by 203 runs in the open series. In that game Ashwin ended with figures of 8/189 and Rohit crashed double centuries in the match. Rohit was unpredictable player of the match. The last match broke multiple records and Indian skipper Virat Kohli will be hoping of a comparable performance at the top from the right-hander in the 2nd Test Match.

Faf du Plessis was quoted as saying “It was more disappointing to lose the toss in the last Test. There is a bit of grass on this morning, but I was asking Virat to teach me the sleight of hand trick to win tosses in India. You can almost take Day 4 and 5 out of the equation if we bowl really well in the first innings. We’re bringing in Nortje for Piedt, so just a bit of extra pace, and a three-seam attack.”

That India are a leading force in Test cricket match and another example of that was seen in Visakhapatnam where they handed South Africa a 203-run beat to take a 1-0 lead got in the 3rd Test series. And the probability taken on Rohit Sharma at the top of the order paid off attractively as he cracked back to back centuries alongside Mayank Agarwal who’s riding similarly high on assurance after his two centuries.
