Brisbane 4th Day Test: Australia wins 1st Test by an innings and 5 runs

Australia team were complete to work harder than emerged likely in sheltered an innings-and-five-run win on the 4th day at the Gabba as Babar Azam scored a classy 2nd Test hundred and Mohammad Rizwan fell 5 runs short of his 1st before the tail went down swinging.

When Pakistan team were decreased to 5 for 94 in the 1st session, the same position they found themselves in the 1st innings – the prospect of Australia team needing the 2nd new ball or coming close to batting again seemed far-fetched.

On the other hand, cricketers Azam and Rizwan added 132 for the 6th wicket then Rizwan was joined by Yasir to put on 79 for the 7th wicket. The loss of Rizwan for 95, moments before the 2nd new ball was taken, ended the resistance and the Pakistan fast bowlers were in for a good time, not a long time. Josh Hazlewood completed with 4 for 63 runs in what was Australia’s 13th straight winning at home against Pakistan team.

Babar (104) and Rizwan (95) showed excellent play to take the match deep into day 4 but Australia’s cool heads overcome to get the job done. Hazlewood was top in the bowlers list with 4-63 off 21 overs and Pat Cummins with 2-69 off 21 overs provided support on a long day for the hosts. Pakistan team were dismissed for 335 after being 5-94 earlier today.
