Aditi Ashok is considered a tough medal contender at the Paris Olympics


Aditi Ashok, an Indian golfer, is a prominent candidate to earn a medal for her country at the Paris Olympics in 2024. Born in 1998, Aditi started playing at the age of five, captivated by the lush green course at the Karnataka Golf Association. Aditi’s early accomplishments included winning the Karnataka Junior and South Indian Junior Championships at the age of 13, as well as the national amateur title that same year. Aditi became professional in 2016 and won the Ladies British Amateur Stroke Play Championship, making her the youngest and first Indian to win the Lalla Aicha Tour School and earning her Ladies European Tour card.

The 26-year-old golfer went on to win the Hero Women’s Indian Open and the Qatar Ladies Open, earning Rookie of the Year honors. Aditi has represented India in several international competitions, including the Olympic Games, and she was the first Indian woman to win a silver medal in the Asian Games.

Aditi has made considerable progress in the Olympic Games between 2016 and 2021. At the 2016 Rio Olympics, Aditi, who was only 18 years old, became the youngest golfer to compete. She tied for 41st position, indicating a strong start on the international stage. Aditi’s experience and ability level increased greatly during the Tokyo Olympics.

Aditi is in fantastic form following her best Major performance at the Amundi Evian Championship. She finished tied for 17th after making three birdies in the last four holes.
