Rohit Sharma opens up on his worry ahead of the semifinal clash against England

India skipper Rohit Sharma will lead his team in the 2024 T20 World Cup semifinal against England on June 27, Thursday. The match is a rematch of the 2022 semifinal when England defeated India by 10 wickets before winning the trophy by defeating Pakistan in the final. India enters the match as one of just two unbeaten teams, the other being South Africa, who will battle against Afghanistan in the first semifinals earlier in the day.

It should be mentioned that there will be no reserve day for the semifinal match between India and England, which will be held at the Providence Stadium in Georgetown, Guyana. Rain pelted the city on the eve of the match. Rohit expressed a desire for a long match, but India is prepared to adjust to the conditions.

The overhead conditions are in nobody’s control, you don’t know what is going to happen. The only thing I am worried about is if the game goes on till pretty late, we have a chartered flight and we might miss that, Rohit said in a press conference. But that is ok, it is the ICC and Cricket West Indies’ headache to get us to the next venue. We will focus on how we can play this game well and get the result in our favor. Two good cricket teams are going to play so it’s going to be a great game, he added.

I don’t think it is an advantage. A lot of these players have played in different types of venues. I am sure a lot of English cricketers have played here. So, I don’t see it as an advantage, at the end of the day, you have to play good cricket to win. That is how I look at it, Rohit concluded.
