Team India is all set to take on England in the series opener on January 25, Thursday at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium. Ahead of the first test, India’s head coach Rahul Dravid admitted that his men will formulate their game plans as per the match situations. Dravid did not see Indian batters responding to England’s ‘Bazball’ in kind, but he expressed that they will not back down in the five-match Test series.

I don’t think we are going out there to try to be ultra-attacking. I think we look to play what’s in front of us, what the situation demands. But by nature, if you look at our top six-seven batsmen, there are a lot of guys who are naturally positive and look to take the game on, the former Indian Captain said. So, they’re not going to be looking to change that in any particular way. There’ll be some different situations in which we may need to look to push the game along or we might have to bat for long periods, Dravid added. But I can’t see any of my batsmen taking a backward step or looking to be defensive.

It’s always exciting when England comes on because it’s one of the most followed Test series in the world. It should be five good Test matches after a long time. I really hope that you know, we can get the ground running hard and maybe strike a few balls early on, Dravid concluded.
