Kasi Viswanathan, the CEO of Chennai Super Kings clarified the rumors of the team’s skipper MS Dhoni featuring in the future seasons. He assured that the fans can expect their captain Dhoni featuring in the team until 2021 and 2022 seasons of the IPL. There were also some recent rumors regarding CSK planning to terminate the contract of its captain after IPL 2020.

Since his last appearance in the semi-final of the 2019 World Cup against New Zealand Dhoni has not featured in any competitive matches. IPL 2020 held a lot of anticipation as it was regarded to be the wicket-keeping legend’s comeback tournament. As he resumed his practice session earlier in March for IPL 2020 in the chepauk stadium fans came pouring into the stands to eagerly see their adored player. Prior to this in January this year, N Srinivasan, the owner of the CSK franchise had said Dhoni would be retained by them going into the auction for the 2021 IPL.

Viswanathan also added that he is getting regular updates through the media about Dhoni preparing in Jharkhand in indoor nets. He then candidly assured that there is no need to stress too much over the boss (Dhoni). Viswanathan said the franchise or the team don’t stress over him by any stretch of the imagination. Since everyone related to this matter understands that Dhoni knows his obligations and that he will deal with himself and his team.
