Delhi Capitals’ bowlers ran riot to crush Gujarat Titans and register successive wins

Delhi Capitals’ (DC) bowlers produced a phenomenal performance to hand Gujarat Titans (GT) a humiliating 6-wicket defeat in front of their home crowd at Narendra Modi Stadium. With a one-sided win against GT, DC climbed to sixth position in the points table. Jake Fraser-McGurk’s blistering cameo, 10-ball 20 made the chase very easy for the visitors. DC skipper Rishabh Pant played an unbeaten 16-run knock to take his side home in just 8.5 overs. Sandeep Warrier took two wickets for GT.

Opting to bowl first, DC made an excellent start with its pacers taking quick wickets. Senior pacer Ishant Sharma got the better of GT captain Shubman Gill (8) while Mukesh Kumar bowled out Wriddhiman Saha for just 2. Sumit Kumar then produced a brilliant effort on the field to dismiss Sai Sudharsan (12), who can score big. In the same over, Ishant bowled a cunning delivery to remove the dangerous David Miller cheaply for 2.

Pant’s outstanding work behind the stumps yielded a wicket to Tristan Stubbs, bagging Abhinav Manohar (8). Rahul Tewatia chipped in 10 while Shahrukh Khan went back for a golden duck. Rashid Khan emerged as the top-scorer with a 24-ball 31. Mukesh’s three-wicket haul helped DC bowl out GT for 89, their lowest total in IPL, surpassing the previous lowest score of 125.

DC’s chase got a fiery start with Jake smashing 2 fours and 2 sixes to put 25 runs on the board in just 2 overs. Abishek Porel and Shai Hope played cameos of 15 and 19 respectively. Pant alongside Sumit (9*) added 25 runs to secure a comfortable win.
