This year the Orlando Magic, i.e. the basketball team based in America has celebrated Indian day on Saturday, February 2, 2019.It was in association with the Indian American Chamber of Commerce (IACC). The match against The Brooklyn Nets (an American professional basketball team based in the borough of Brooklyn, in Newyork City). India Day with the Orlando Magic was IACC’s Signature event of the year. Pre-match There was a Fan-Fest. In the match Orlando Magic won by 102- 89, it was their second win. The celebration took place during the intervals as well as post-match.

The ceremony included cultural dances, performances and different Indian cuisines during the game interval. The Orlando Magic dancers performed on the songs like choghada Tara, Kamariya and Rangtaari from the movie Loveyatri, which has been followed by many members of Bollywood dance academy After the match got finished, there was a concert which featured Mickey Singh.

The revelries across ‘Fan Fest’ included cultural dance, traditional music, and Indian cuisine. Orlando Magic dancers danced to the tunes of some peppy Bollywood tracks. Their performance was followed by another routine by the members of Bollywood Dance Academy.

Bollywood actor Shilpa Shetty marked her presence in 2017 when the Orlando Magic team celebrated India Day with its fans. Shilpa Shetty has also presented a personalised team jersey as part of the celebrations.
