Rohit Sharma makes a one-word reply about Arjun Tendulkar’s IPL debut

Mumbai Indians (MI) are all set to kickoff their IPL 2023 campaign against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) on April 2 (Sunday) at M Chinnaswamy Stadium. The five-time champions Mumbai Indians, who finished at the bottom of the table last season, will aim for a strong comeback. Arjun Tendulkar has been a part of the MI team for the past years, but he is yet to make his debut in the cash-rich League.

In 2021, Arjun was not fit to play as he suffered an injury and in 2022, the MI think-tank did not give him a chance despite their team finishing last in the points table. Arjun has been practicing with the MI side ahead of the IPL 2023. When asked about the 23-year-old all-rounder’s possible IPL debut, MI skipper Rohit Sharma made a reply that will not disappoint Arjun.

Good question. Hopefully, Rohit said at the pre-tournament press conference. MI’s head coach Mark Boucher, who was also present at the conference, told that the young cricketer has impressed many with his bowling and if he is ready, he will surely be considered for selection.

The left-arm fast bowler is just coming off from an injury. He is going to be playing tonight. Hopefully we can see what he can do. I think he has been playing very good cricket, especially in terms of bowling, in the last six months. So yes, if we can have him available for selection, it will be pretty good for us, Boucher added. In regards to resting Rohit, hopefully we do not want to rest him, but we will adapt to whatever the situation is, Boucher concluded.
