Bring Ravi Ashwin into the playing XI, Harbhajan’s bold advice to the Indian captain

Men in Blue have gone undefeated in the 2023 World Cup so far, winning all five of their matches. Last Sunday, India withstood a hard challenge from New Zealand before defeating the Kiwis with an over remaining in Dharamsala. Mohammed Shami, who replaced Shardul Thakur in the playing XI, had a fantastic start to his campaign, registering a five-wicket haul.

With India comfortably atop the table, the path to the semi-finals appears to be quite straightforward. On October 29 (Sunday), India will face reigning champions England, who have suffered a string of setbacks. Former India spinner Harbhajan Singh has provided Rohit Sharma with some crucial advice ahead of the big encounter. Harbhajan has asked the Indian captain to play three spinners in the playing XI as England’s batters are struggling against spin.

Kuldeep Yadav’s form has been good, but I wonder if we will get to see three spinners play in the next game, Kuldeep, Jadeja, and Ravi Ashwin. It could be a possibility since England does not play spin well. As it is, England is not playing well in the World Cup, and if the ball starts spinning, I don’t think they will be able to do much better. Playing three spinners might not be a bad option, Harbhajan expressed.

Siraj can be rested. He has played back-to-back games. Shami has just come into the playing XI and has claimed a five-fer, he added. If a pitch is a normal one and is not expected to offer a lot of turns, then I do not see too many changes in the team. The team that played against the Kiwis might be retained, Harbhajan concluded.
