Indian premier all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja has announced his retirement from T20Is following Team India’s World Cup victory. Like India’s batting stalwarts and Rohit Sharma, Jadeja also announced his departure from the shortest format of the game. The 35-year-old cricketer confirmed his retirement on his official Instagram account.

Jadeja has been a vital member of the Indian T20I squad for many years and played an important all-round role in the 2024 edition. With the bat, Jadeja played a crucial cameo in India’s semi-final victory over England, scoring an unbeaten 17 off just 9 deliveries. While the left-arm spinner took only one wicket in the tournament, Jadeja was quite economical for the team, conceding at an economical rate of 7.57.
Jadeja played 74 T20Is for India, amassing 515 runs in 41 innings while remaining undefeated in 17 of them. The all-rounder typically batted in the bottom middle order. With the ball, Jadeja had a strong economy rate, finishing his T20I career with a remarkable 7.13 rpo. He took 54 wickets in the shortest format. Jadeja will continue to play for Team India in ODIs and Tests, where he remains a key player.
