Ravi Bopara – Our Newest Dafabet Ambassador

Ravi Bopara is an English cricketer who has represented England in all three international formats. Entering his 20th year as a professional, Bopara is recognized as a genuine batting all-arounder known for his strokeplay and calm demeanor in the middle. A truly gifted batsmen who is capable of opening the innings or in the middle order whilst having the ability to excel in all formats of the game. Currently contracted to Sussex Cricket, Bopara will be focusing on the shorter format of the game where he has established himself as a modern great, amassing 8,633 runs and 259 wickets.

Bopara made his first-class debut for Essex in May 2002 at the age of just 17, a County he would continue to represent for nearly 2 decades. In the 2005 season, Bopara became a one to watch, scoring 880 first-class runs, including his maiden first-class century and a non-first class innings of 135 against the infamous Australian Ashes squad. Although representing Sussex Cricket now, his legacy will be remembered as an Essex great who helped the County win numerous trophies, most notably 2 County Championships (2017, 2019) and 1 Twenty20 Cup (2019).

In 2007 following a sublime County season, Bopara made his ODI and Test debuts for England. In only his 2nd ODI match against Sri Lanka, Bopara was named man of the match for his 52 off 53 balls. Throughout his international career with England, Bopara was a staple within England’s ODI setup with 120 caps and delivered numerous match winning performances. In 2009 he became only the 5th Englishman to score 3 consecutive Test centuries. Sadly at Test level Bopara was not given the support from selectors to flourish the glimpses of excellence he showed.
